Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app?
No. It uses the camera API built into your browser. Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded.
Why does it ask for camera permission?
Because a web page cannot access a camera without your explicit consent. The stream is released the moment you close the camera, and only the frames you deliberately capture are kept.
It says no camera was found.
Either the device has no camera, the page is not on a secure connection, or another app is using it. You can build the same PDF from photos you have already taken with the Image to PDF tool.
Can I make the scans searchable?
Yes — run the finished PDF through PDF OCR, which adds recognised text you can copy.
